It started as something completely different – and then one day, there was suddenly a shop
It started somewhat by chance
The space on Holbergsgade was never intended to become a shop. It was meant for another project, but when that project was put on hold, we suddenly found ourselves with a space and a new opportunity.
With help from some wonderful people, the room was quickly filled with arts and crafts, colour and whimsical objects. In spring 2022, it became MADE FOR ME cph.
Since then, more artists, designers and small brands have joined us. What they have in common is personality, good design and a story behind what they create.
A shop with personality
In summer 2025, MADE FOR ME cph moved to Elmegade 22 in Nørrebro. Here, we have more space for everything we love: Danish design, arts and crafts, colour, whimsical objects and things that stand out from the crowd.
We personally select everything for the shop and love sharing the stories of the people, ideas and craftsmanship behind it.
Social responsibility
We want to know where the things we sell come from and who made them. That is why we choose brands and producers carefully, prioritising fair working conditions, responsible production and partnerships in which people are treated properly.
We do not believe responsibility can be reduced to a single formula. It looks different from one product to another – but it has to make sense to us before it earns a place in the shop.
Danish production
Our largest product group comes from Danish designers and artisans, which have many environmental benefits. This is, for example, minimal emissions from transport, a small production with very little waste, a focus on durability and not rapidly changing trends. Furthermore, the working environment is, for the most part, characterized by creativity, joy and passion.
Foreign production
The fact that something is produced far away does not necessarily make it a poor choice. Many places have highly skilled makers, proud craft traditions and fair working conditions.
When we choose products made outside Denmark, we therefore look at how and under what conditions they are produced. We prefer brands that know their producers, build long-term partnerships and communicate openly about their production.
For us, it is not about the country named on the label. What matters is that the production makes sense – both for the people who make the products and for those of us who buy them.
The same cooperation
We do not choose products according to one fixed formula. Some are made locally, while others come from farther afield. Some are handmade, while others are produced in larger quantities.
What they have in common is that we believe they deserve a place in the shop – because of their design, quality, story or the way they are produced.
We look for things with personality, made to be used and loved.

We want partnerships that make sense for everyone involved. Many of the people we work with are independent artists, designers and producers, and we understand how much time and effort goes into their products.
That is why we value fair agreements, open dialogue and prices that respect the work behind each product. We believe the best and most lasting partnerships are created when everyone around the table benefits.
